Translator's Corner. Перевести на английский 11 предложений о школе, возрасте, именах, классах, любимых предметах и учителях.
Решение
Свой перевод (в английском предложении всегда есть глагол — здесь to be):
- The maths lesson is in Room 16.
- My favourite day of the week is Saturday.
- How old is Tom? — He's ten.
- I'm twelve. And you? (What about you?)
- His name is Sasha. He's in Class 5 (in the fifth form).
- John and Bill are friends. They're new in Class 4A.
- Is it a pencil? — No, it isn't. It's a pen.
- My favourite teacher is Anna Ivanovna. She teaches Russian.
- What's his name? What class is he in? How old is he?
- What subjects does he study? What's his favourite subject? Who is his favourite teacher?
- Where is the English lesson? Где в русском «есть» пропущено («Мне 12 лет», «Урок в кабинете»), в английском обязательно am/is/are.

Русские предложения без глагола («Мне 12 лет», «Джон и Билл — друзья») переводятся с глаголом to be.
